What Did You Notice in the Second Trailer of Avengers: Endgame 14 March 2019 That Other People Might Have Overlooked?

When you think about it, the level of skill required to wrap up such a monumental series of cinematic history, Avengers: Endgame, is nothing short of brilliance. Every detail, every character interaction, and every storyline has been meticulously crafted to ensure a satisfying conclusion for fans. One such observation, not easily noticed during the second trailer, is the significance behind Captain America's actions.

The Meaning Behind Captain America's Look Back

At the conclusion of the film, when it's time for the Avengers to send the Infinity Stones back to their respective dimensions, Banner builds the time machine, and Captain America (Steve Rogers) is chosen to complete the task. After a short delay, Bucky can be seen with a slight smile, indicating his intention not to return to the future. It's a moment that many may have overlooked, but it's actually quite profound.

A key detail that deserves attention is when Captain America takes a quick look back over his shoulder before entering the time machine. He is standing facing Bruce Banner, and the question arises, what was he looking at?

In reality, Cap was looking at the spot. This place holds immense significance, as it will be the exact location where he will return again, decades later, after the arduous journey of his life. He was well aware that he needed to return here, making it a crucial moment in the film's narrative.

Iron Man's Admiration and Respect for Captain America

Another detail that many might have missed is the exchange between Iron Man (Tony Stark) and Captain America during the climactic battle at the Avengers headquarters. When Cap says, "Avengers Assemble," Iron Man grabs the All- powerful Hammer Thor Mjolnir and holds it up. However, a closer look reveals that Iron Man is actually looking at Steve Rogers. This gesture could be a sign of deep respect or perhaps even admiration. This is because, earlier in the first Avengers movie, Tony Stark told Cap, "Everything special about you came out of a bottle." It's safe to say that seeing Captain America with the legendary Mjolnir in his hands completely changed Tony's regard for Cap, solidifying their bond.

The Complexity of Thanos' Victory and Defeat in Endgame

One of the most significant oversights in the discussion of Avengers: Endgame is the analysis of why Thanos lost in the film, compared to the reason for the Avengers' defeat in Avengers: Infinity War. In Infinity War, the Avengers were largely unaware of Thanos' true motivations and the severity of his plans. Despite knowing about the Infinity Stones, they were largely unprepared for his advanced knowledge and meticulous planning. On the other hand, in Endgame, Thanos is of a younger age but plans his attack from 2014, a time when the pieces (like Ultron, Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Dr. Strange) were not in play. This gives the Avengers a crucial advantage, as they are prepared, while Thanos is not.

Rhyming these two scenarios, George Lucas's principle of It's like poetry so that they rhyme.

Deeper analysis reveals that the Avengers in Infinity War were caught off guard by an enemy who had a thorough understanding of their weaknesses. Despite their heroic efforts, Thanos's strategy left them vulnerable. Conversely, in Endgame, the Avengers are better informed and more prepared, leading to an evenly matched conflict. This creates a compelling narrative arc as the stakes go from unknown to clear, and the characters are driven to their absolute limits.
