A Personal Experience: Dealing with Racism and Self-Hatred

As a biracial individual, I have faced both subtle and open forms of racism from my white family and self-hatred and quasi-white supremacy in my Asian family members. Some of these relatives just want to be white and perpetuate right-wing talking points, which has contributed to a sense of alienation and mental distress.

The microaggressions from friends and family further compounded the issue, leading to a sense of unreality and mental breakdown. It's important to recognize that such experiences are not unique and can happen to anyone dealing with discrimination, leading to feelings of hopelessness and disconnection.
