Journey of Faith: When Did You Accept Jesus as Lord and Savior?

Many of us have a story about when we first embraced the faith. Some find solace and peace at a young age, while others struggle with their beliefs until later in life. With over 20 years of reflection, my personal journey offers a unique perspective on how and when one accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior.

A Reckoning with Faith

Recalling my past, I can trace my relationship with faith back to when I was a child. Yet, it wasn't until I was about 35 years old that I took the necessary steps to truly embrace the gospel of Christ. Faith was something I promised myself that I would find as an adult, a commitment that intertwined with my spiritual journey.

The Turning Point

When I heard the true gospel—believe in Him and be baptized—I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. This happened at a pivotal moment in my life when I was around 35 years old. The realization dawned on me that believing and living by faith are not just casual commitments but profound, life-changing decisions.

Reflection on Adolescent Struggles

Looking back, I realize the significance of my earlier doubts. At age 11, I rejected the religious teachings I had been exposed to, calling them what they likely were: brainwashing. I questioned the motives of those who professed a strict doctrine and professed to profit from it. These were truths that challenged the norm and forced me to form my own beliefs. I asked, “Do you really believe your own teachings, or are you just living off the ignorance of others?

Commitment Today

Now, at 37 years old, I am committed to my faith. I refuse to engage in any games or misdirection with God. The mistakes I have made in my life have been numerous, and I have realized that there might not be a second chance. The Bible states, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). This declaration resonates deeply with me, affirming the importance of following Jesus.

Walking with Jesus

Believing in my heart and soul that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, I have made a conscious effort to align my actions with His teachings. The Bible, a tool given to me by God, guides me in every step of my journey. Jesus is not just a symbol of faith but a tangible presence in my life. Coming to Him means opening up and allowing His love and guidance to transform my life.

A Life-Changing Revelation

Looking back, the moment I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior has defined my entire existence. It was at around age seven when I first noticed the incredible engineering behind the natural world. Though I was the only one seeing it in my environment, the realization that there is a higher intelligence behind everything I encounter has remained constant. It has been a mystery that no one else seems to have solved, even the scientists.

Only through the internet have I connected with others who share this perspective. This connection confirms to me that my faith and belief are valid and shared by a growing number of individuals.

Whether my perspective was given as a gift or a tool, it has ultimately led me to Jesus. Now, being 74, I cherish this relationship more than ever. No matter who believes alongside me or alone, Jesus is the guiding light for my life.
