Are You Excited for Doctor Who Season 15? A Fan’s Perspective

Doctor Who has been a beloved science fiction series for decades, captivating fans with its time-traveling adventures, diverse characters, and endless plot twists. Season 15 Too Soon?

For many Doctor Who fans, the release of new episodes is a yearning anticipation. However, for those eagerly awaiting the conclusion of Series 14 or caught up in the current filming of Series 15, the wait can feel tedious. Currently, Season 15 is still underway, with air dates yet to be disclosed for the first episodes, scheduled for Christmas. But for me, I can’t wait for something new!

Season 15 began with the premiere of a Time War trailer. Among the cast, I’m particularly excited to see Leela, one of my favorite Companions from the series. Her appearance was a breath of fresh air after the long absence.

Every new season promises new stories, enemies, and allies. While the Doctor has evolved, alongside the writers, fans continually hope for a balance of engaging episodes. Even when the Doctor undergoes a change or the writing suffers, the series still manages to captivate those onboard for the ride. For me, that means more time avoiding the strict regime of oversleeping!

Thoughts on the Latest Season

Is the current season as thrilling as the trailer suggests? The answer, primarily, depends on who you ask. As a longtime fan, the series has seen its share of ups and downs. The latest season, Season 14, has faced some criticism, but it's not solely a reflection of an actor's performance.

Jodie Whittaker has received praise for her leading role, but the over-crowded cast and some poorly written scripts have garnered slim reviews. While Chris Chibnall, the current showrunner, has faced inconsistencies in his writing, managing to write standout episodes in the past. Episodes like Dinosaurs on a Spaceship and The Power of Three stand out in part because of him.

Despite these criticisms, I've taken to rewatching the last few seasons on Netflix. Right now, I'm diving into Season 9, where the character Missy has left an indelible mark. Given this, I’m finding the current season, despite its challenges, to be a refreshing experience.

Straight to the point – yes, I am excited for Season 15. I've been a fan of Doctor Who since the Eccleston era, and while I’ve experienced some lean times, the allure of the series is as strong as ever. I've watched every episode of the modern series since the first season, and now I call myself a Whovian.

Currently midway through Season 7, I anxiously await the return of the show in India. For those who have the opportunity to catch up, Season 15 promises fresh adventures and thrilling episodes.
